Solartility is an Alberta-based electricity retailer and software company. We facilitate solar system installations, buy and sell electricity and manage customer electricity consumption. We aim to lower customer electricity costs and reduce carbon emissions.

Solartility provides electricity through solar power. We are also a grid power retailer providing electricity for customer consumption.

Solartility provides Energy as a Service (EaaS) by managing customer consumption between solar and grid power. We create savings and profits for our clients by selling unused power back to the grid at maximum pricing and buying grid power at the lowest possible prices. These savings and profits go back to our customers.

Because Solartility provides and installs solar systems to our clients at next-to-no upfront costs, a contract is required for our services.

Solartility is licensed to provide services in Alberta. Currently, our primary retail operations are in Calgary and Edmonton with more service areas on the way as demand increases.

Renewable energy is energy derived from a sustainable source (one that won’t run out). These include wind, waves, geothermal (ground heat) and the sun.

Because the energy is derived naturally and without mining or processing, energy generation is essentially free after the solar system is paid for.

Energy from renewables is generated in a way that produces no greenhouse gasses and reduces air pollution. Where coal power creates around 2.5 pounds of CO2 for every kWh of electricity, solar panels create none.

The Micro-Gen Maximizer is our solar managed electricity plan. Solartility’s customers’ electricity production and consumption are managed by our Energy Optimizer app (coming soon!). This plan provides maximum profits and savings from the grid.

With our floating-rate plan, Solartility’s Energy Optimizer can maximize arbitrage profits with hourly spot rates rather than daily or monthly.

Solar specific questions

When the sun shines onto the photovoltaic cells in solar panels, the energy is converted into a DC current (electrical energy). This energy is then either used by the consumers, stored in a battery for future use or sold back to the grid.

Because the sun doesn’t shine every day, Solartility provides customers with a storage battery that stores excess energy. While our customers remain tied to the grid, eliminating the possibility of service interruptions, the battery system acts as a backup further preventing power loss.

No. Solartility offers a lease program for the supply and installation of new solar equipment.

Solartility’s team of engineers will be ready with a plan. They will engineer a system to determine if it makes economic sense to deploy a system at a potential customer’s home.

Buy low, sell high! Solartility acts as our customers’ energy broker and ensures they receive a higher price for exported energy and pay a lower price for grid electricity.
